What Songs Get Stuck in Your Head?

I get songs rolling around in my head on a regular basis.  How about you?

Sometimes it is a song I love, sometimes it is one that I don't like.  That is awful!

Once in a while it is a commercial song from a television ad.  Marketing in my head, yuk!  Guess the ad people did their job well, there.

It is hard to get those songs out of your head when you want to.  I usually try to replace it with another song.  That works sometimes.

I can just listen to something on the television or my computer - youtube, hulu, pandora, spotify, etc.  That will push the song out.

I use some self-hypnosis techniques, especially if I am trying to go to sleep when the songs start in my mind!  Counting backward always works well with some gentle deep breathes.

Thinking about Roses

I love Roses, and enjoy them more every year.   Here are some end of summer roses from our front yard!

My Mom used to own a flower shop, and roses are very special for many reasons!

The story of this song is a man who killed another man who insulted his woman.  Now he is wanted by the police.

Some of the copies that were given to radio stations had the siren sounds taken off because it confused drivers.  I feel that way now with some of the songs on the radio!

Singing Nuns, wonderful moments from around the world with Spiritual Women

 I just started doing some research today on singing Nuns.  I was inspired by hearing some songs from the 60's and remembering my mixed blessings of going to Catholic School during that time!

Not all of the nuns singing here are Christian.  There is a video of some Tibetan nuns, which I found interesting because I have often seen Tibetan monks, but have not seen Nuns before.

The videos are all from Youtube, and the quality is not always professional.

I respect all people who follow their spiritual paths.  Even though I am a Protestant ordained minister myself, I have studied and experienced people and their faith around the world.  It is beautiful to hear them sing and express themselves!

United Christian Church in Fairless Hills, PA

 

I have made a lot of friends that are members at the United Christian Church in Fairless Hills, PA,  They are a very active church with a social conscience.  They run a food pantry, and are involved in a lot of great projects in Bucks County.
